About Notes by Sara

Over the last few years I've been teaching myself finance, valuation, markets, and other related subjects just because I wanted to actually understand how money and companies work. Notes by Sara is that learning, written down.

Every note here started as something I was trying to explain to myself clearly enough to remember. I'm publishing them because studying finance alone, without a structured course, is harder than it needs to be, and because writing something well enough for a stranger to understand it is the best test of whether I actually understand it myself.

It's a running notebook. It will stay imperfect and it will keep changing, the same way my own understanding does.
